Technology is great and the public can finally access photos and property information mush easier due to the great platforms such as Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com etc. But It is all to common that the public take the information they find on these platforms and attempt to use it in the real world.

"My Zestimate says my house is worth xyz " among many other claims, simply cause misinformed people to be further confused when speaking with a real estate professional who actually knows what the current trends in pricing are for your area. Simply put, Zillow doesn't don't know your market, and on average are from 3 days to 6 weeks out of sync with reality. Houses that were sold months ago still show for sale, and I can't count how many times a buyer has a list of homes that they found on Zillow that have been off the market long before they found the address on their phone app.

My suggestion is to just use the platforms like Zillow as a great way to access photos quickly for an address, and to maybe read their blogs and articles for how-to information etc That's about to the extent of it's usefulness. if you really want to get a glimpse of the unhappy information spread through Zillow's platform just google Zillow complaints and read your markets identical issues.

Make sure to establish an open relationship with real estate professionals and allow them to help you figure out what all your options are, and what will be best for you and your family. Don't leave it up to a software company that doesn't have a customer service department to assist you with real life scenarios.
